Our First Journey Together
So this is my girlfriend (Right) and I (Left) Aren't we Cute? :P |
Me trying to start a fire *ultimate fail |
So originally my plan was to get a hotel room up in Brian Head Resort for the weekend and during the days we could fill our time with hiking, zip lining, and ohhhh I don't know, just relax. For $130 a night it wasn't THAT bad of a deal (I'm sure you could find cheaper, I looked on Hotels.com). but fortunately for us, my boss owns a cabin in Duck Creek just 20 mins away from Brian Head... well, same shit to me!! He was kind enough to let us occupy his cabin for the weekend. For real!? We'll take it! that following weekend we were off!
Okay, when someone says they have a cabin you can use for the weekend I wont lie, I picture a dingy little 1 bedroom with spider webs and dust. Why? you can thank all the movies for that one. HA! Joke was on us. We pull up to a 5 star cabin resort. I'm talking, 5 bedrooms, three stories, top of the line bathroom and kitchen upgrades, media room, wrap around deck and about 10 bird feeders(oh yes, forest whisperer). We were in heaven when we realized this was all ours for the weekend. Let it begin!
When I say this man has the works, I mean he has the works. ATV's, Ping Pong table, hiking, camping, and fishing gear, dirt bikes, and not to mention fridge FULL of beer. So we started this trip off completely right with a ride on the ATV's. YA-HOO!
So if you make your way up to this place they have plenty of ATV, sand-rail, and other awesome things to rent. Or, unless, you just want to hang out under the sky and stars singing to the birds, that's cool too. That doesn't even include the winter activities you can do.
**MIDDLE NOTE**
Get it?
If you wanted to, however, rent any of those things you can check out:
That page will give you a complete list of all the activities they have in the area.
Outside of our badass ATV skills we basically spent the entire weekend literally smelling the fresh air,*since Vegas is dirt central*, listened to the birds and simply enjoyed each others company....while watching Halloween Wars on the food network, of course. Yes we ended up having TV up there but that didn't interfere with nature, trust me. I did manage to fill all the bird feeders and lay out some fresh oats for the deer in hopes we may catch a glimpse of some wild life and guess what:
*In fact, we had about 6 deer come up at one point. The most peaceful feeling, to me, is knowing a wild animal can feel trusted by you. or they are just extremely hungry so they don't care. Either way we scored!
MORAL OF THE STORY:
This trip ended up being more than what we could have asked for on our first journey together. If you ever need a break from life or a particular someone....head to this area. This place literally has it all.
